 Ana-Marija Markovina /  Piano Festival "Clavis" / Music festival

Born in Croatia, Ana-Marija Markovina studied in Berlin, Vienna and Weimar and now lives in Cologne. Her concert tours have taken her to over 50 countries. She has been a soloist with numerous German and international orchestras such as the Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia, the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landesorchester, the Brandenburg Symphony,

the Darmstadt State Orchestra, the Szczecin Philharmonic, the Oulu Symphony Orchestra of Finland and the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra of Tokyo. She has given concerts at the Vienna Musikverein, the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, the Auditorium di Milano and the Berlin Philharmonie, Ana-Marija has also performed at the Yokohama International Piano Festival, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Bach Festival Hamburg, the European Weeks Passau, the Bachwoche Ansbach, the Beethoven Festival Bonn, the Festival d'Arles and the Piano Stars Festival Latvia. On the occasion of the 300th birthday of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, a CD box containing the composer's complete piano works was released by Hänssler Classic on 26 CDs in 2014, for which she was awarded many prizes, including the French "Choc de Classica" and the German Record Critics’ Prize (Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik).

The recording was in the classical charts worldwide and received the highest recognition in international reviews. Her discography also includes world premiere recordings of the works of Hugo Wolf, Luise Adolpha Le Beau and Anton Urspruch. Recent projects include recordings of the complete piano solo works of Anton Bruckner and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy as well as the piano concertos of Edvard Grieg and Franz Berwald on the 150th anniversary of his death in 2018.

Her interest in contemporary music led to intensive collaboration with various composers, but especially with Stefan Heucke, whose "Variations with Haydn" op.85 she premiered on the occasion of the farewell of Bundestag President Dr. Norbert Lammert in the Reichstag building in Berlin.
